Vitamin D – The ‘sunshine vitamin’

Fantastic news from the work of Adrian Martineau and his team in the British Journal of Medicine, vitamin D has been shown to reduce the risk of colds, the flu, and other respiratory conditions.

In their huge review of the evidence of the protective effects of Vitamin D, Professor Martineau’s team examined studies totaling over 11,000 participants in 25 randomised control trials and concluded that not only was vitamin D supplementation safe, but that it was also protective from those pesky colds that seem to come along when the cold weather kicks in.

There might not be a great deal of sunshine to keep you topped up with vitamin D, but luckily our honey multivitamins provide enough to make sure you’re never in short supply.
